Welcome to the Sparta Advent Christian Church
Serving God in the Highland community, and through out the world!

Thanks for visiting our website!

As you investigate more about the church, please do not leave without knowing about our message. Our Hope is Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. He is the reason for our faith and the God we worship. Today if you would like to know Jesus Christ we would love to help you on this glorious road of freedom and purpose. Here a few steps to know Christ...

By now you may have discovered that all roads do not lead to God, and life is not as simple as you once thought. For those who are at this crossroad, the Bible offers a new direction, one filled with purpose, fulfillment, and acceptance. The steps are simple:

1. Admit that you're a sinner.

First, you must admit your spiritual need: "There is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). Making excuses and blame others or pointing at our circumstances for our actions does not lead to God. "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

2. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God..." (I Peter 3:18). When Jesus suffered death on the Roman cross, although He was perfect, He took on the punishment and penalty for the sins of the world...that means yours and mine. The Apostle Paul said, "...the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).

3. Confess and repent of your sins.

The word "confess" means "to agree." We must agree with God that we are sinners but we must also turn away from our old and sinful way of life. The Bible tells us, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19). God calls us to agree and turn away. We must be hungry to turn toward Jesus and away from that which hurts Him.

4. Declare Jesus as your Savior.

Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). It is absolutely essential that you honestly come to Jesus and refuse to put on a show. Come just as you are. Don't try to "clean up " before you run to Jesus. Simply, allow Him to do the "purifying." Jesus said, "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37). Jesus wants you no matter the condition. With Christ nothing is impossible!!! Jesus loves you.
