Welcome to the Sparta Advent Christian Church
Serving God in the Highland community, and through out the world!

Today we had various projects.  The day began with all but a couple of us moving and leveling dirt to grade at the orphanage site.  Shovels and wheel-barrows with flat tires in the middle of the desert made this a tough job but we proved that teamwork can conquer anything when that team is working for the Lord.

After lunch we split up and some worked on the wiring project at a local family's home, and we are putting down some tile.

Then it was back to VBS where the children continue to enjoy the time learning that Christo te ama (Jesus Loves Me).

Needless to say night life around here consists of a late dinner, devotions, a time for reflection of what we see God doing and off to bed.

As we were eating breakfast a trucker lost part of his load of bricks just outside our compound. Imagine his suprise when 14 gringos poured out to help him reload. We made sure he knew that Christians come from every nationality.

Quenten unloading one of the hundreds of loads to increase the grade along the front of where the building will be.

Pastor Terry watches as Johnathan, Kaylee, Quenton, and Pastor Rob do a "tamper tantrum" dance to tamp down the dirt at the orphanage site.

Kathi proving to be the "Vanna White" of surveyor's assistants at the orphanage site.

Anthony, like many of us, has proven to be a jack of all trades. Here he is our master surveyor establishing grade at the orpanage site. Notice the crew has really dwindled the initial pile of dirt in the background.

Flexability is the KEY to effective missions and this crew is proving that we can be flexable, accomplish many things, and glorify God in all that we do.

Once again we find Jan in her normal position, except now she has taken to waving at us like we are her subjects.

Here we see Anthony preparing the floor for tile in the 99+1 compound. Love that versitility! Quenten, David, and Dana are also proving to be pretty good at tile work.

Johnathan anchors his side in the tug of war just before Vacation Bible School.

These children have a tremendous amount of energy and it pours over into blessings for each of us every day.

David, Ruben, and Kaylee paying close attention to the lessons at VBS.

Angel, the puppeteer, is an excellent way to reach these kids and is genuinly funny and very gifted in this ministry.

Cristy and five of her closest new friends.

We can assure you this is the kind of love you will find down here when you go with God.

You may never find a more loving bunch of people than those we have encountered in San Felipe, especially the children.  They really seem to respond to the love of Christ, that unconditional and perfect love, when it is given so freely.

Tonight's craft at VBS had the children making parrot puppets.  Here we find some budding puppeteers practicing their new craft.

These puppets began life in central Ohio with many ladies from both the Sparta and Mount Liberty Advent Christian churches cutting and building the various parts.  So for those ladies who had a part in this, yet could not make the trip you can now see how your labors have been turned into God's blessing.

This is exactly what is needed in missions work.  For each missionary in the "field" we must provide dozens of people back home to do the labor, prayer, administration, and support of our folks called to mission.
